Talad Kao — the 'old market' — is Krabi Town's original fresh market, a warren of stalls behind Maharaj Road that's been feeding the town for generations. Mornings are the show: fish still flapping, mounds of fruit and vegetables, curry pastes ground on the spot, and old shophouse coffee stalls doing thick, sweet brews. It's gritty, genuine and cheap. Come early, wander slowly, and eat breakfast where the locals do. Free, and one of the more authentic hours you'll spend in town.
