Thale Waek — the Separated Sea — is a sandbar that surfaces at low tide and links three islands (Koh Kai, Koh Tup and Koh Mor) so you can walk between them across the ocean floor. It's the headline stop on the 4-islands tour and a genuinely odd, lovely thing to see. Timing is everything: it only appears around low tide, so the tour operator plans the route around it.
