Dragon's Crest (Ngon Nak Nature Trail)

Khao Ngon Nak — Dragon's Crest — is the best half-day hike near Ao Nang, a 3.7km climb through jungle to a clifftop that drops away over the whole coastline and the islands beyond. It's a proper workout: steep, sweaty, and roughly two to three hours up and back. There are rest platforms and railings on the exposed final ridge. Start at first light to beat the heat and get the view before cloud rolls in. Free, well-marked, and worth every step. Bring water and grippy shoes.
