This is the payoff at the top of Wat Tham Suea's 1,237 steps — a golden Buddha and a footprint shrine on a limestone summit with an uninterrupted 360-degree view over Krabi's karst plains, the coast and the town. The climb is brutal and shadeless, so carry water and go early or late. From the top you see why people bother: green pinnacles in every direction and, on a clear day, the sea. Free, but it's earned. Cover shoulders and knees for the shrine.
